in White sand New Mexico, there's a set of two species of Lizards.  Both are traditional brown lizards, but both separate species have now developed white scales as a way to adapt to desert life, by camouflaging with the sand around the.  It is believed that by studying these lizards at a genetic level ,because of how they have mutated, and the fact that it's two different species originally, We'll be able to gain more insight, not only into how species evolve, but also into how separate species form.
