EFF study confirms Comcast's BitTorrent interference

The EFF just concluded a study of Comcast, confirming that Comcast is intentionally degrading bit torrent traffic. by injecting reset packets.

This is BAD BAD business. Comcast maintains that they aren't "blocking" use of bit torrent, but rather, practicing "Fair network management practices as allowed by the FCC"

well, we'll see about that, as there is currently a class action lawsuit underway.

personally i think it's BS

much like a store checking receipts at the door, lets jsut treat everyone like a criminal, to catch 1 or 2 extra ones, seems the prevalent thought.

god forbid that people use bit torrent for legitimate things, such as world of Warcraft patches, or Linux distributions, or many other millions of websites, that use bit torrent to distribute perfectly legal software and media.

thje EFF also published a PDF explaining how to use wireshark like they did, to test your own UISP for packet injection
