Gabe Newell The President of Valve, Makers of Half Life 2,Counter-Strike, and the Steam content delivery system. Has gone on record and said that Microsoft's decision to make DirectX10 for Vista only was a "terrible mistake that has harmed Gaming"


Currently hardware companies are shying away from making directX-10 devices, because according to studies, only 8% of gamers are currently using vista a full 9 months after it's release
X--mas, Back-to-school, Graduation. All come & gone. These are usually big boost times for new Pc's and new purchases, of games.

Vista's failure to try and get gamers to switch in order to use Direct X 10 in other words, has failed.

It probably doesn't help that Playing an MP3 cuts your network bandwidth by 90%
